Garden Supplies

Last year we kept the garden supplies limited and simple. It worked great, but we were working with a fairly small space and no animal interests.

This year our garden is much larger and the local bunnies have found us..

Here's our supply list::

Dr. Earth
This is an organic fertilizer mix that can be found at local/small garden stores. We mixed the dry substance into the earth during the planting process. We have yet to add any other enhancers and the veggies are thriving!

Local Soil & Manure Mix
We don't buy :fancy: soil as we're lucky to have nutrient rich soil, so we take advantage! We do purchase a manure mix in bags at the gardening supply stores, mixing in with the soil during planting.

Wire Fence
As I mentioned the bunnies have found us and gone after the lettuce, cauliflower and beans. We didn't want to, but we did resorted to putting up a small wire fence to protect the veggies. So far no harm to bunnies or veggies!

Three Prong Ho
We have the garden packed in fairly tight, so we've found that using the long handled three prong works great for reaching all the areas. We're not OCD about every tiny weed, but do make sure to turn up the soil so the water gets in there.

Water
How else will everything grow? We really treat the garden as if it's a puppy making sure its watered never drying out. People and plants.. we all need hydration.

Overall the veggies are doing amazing! We've had beans and cucumbers [pickles] ready, so we will be doing our first batch of spicy pickles this week into the jars- can't wait! And.. for the record - sorry for the lacking photos, working on getting a more appropriate camera soon!

Happy gardening!
